Chop, Chop, Chop
I have a confession... I'm scared of soup! Not eating it, but making it and everything that goes with it. My cooking friends tell me I'm crazy - that it is the best-kept secret of crazy-life-cooking, but I'm still not convinced. I did get brave enough, however, to try it myself. I found a good chowder recipe (check it out on my Pinterest board) and went to work chopping every single cube by hand, because, at this pathetic moment in my culinary history, I do not own a food processor. It was all going just grand until, 30 minutes into chopping, I got to the onion. I have since found a tutorial of how to cut an onion, and the knowledge that I acquired will be drawn upon the next time I am unfortunate enough to have to use it. But alas, with my  fingers wet and slippery, my eyes swelled up with tears, I made the bad choice to push through and cut that last block, and....slice! Right down through the top of my thumb.

The Moral of the Story
Thankfully it didn't get me too bad, but needless to say, I was not happy. The rest of the onion found it's bitter end in my trashcan and my thumb will be living in a band aid for the foreseeable future. The moral of the story should be to 'take a break for safety's sake', but instead the mantra I'm singing is 'buy me a food processor'. It definitely wasn't the worst experience I ever had, but it didn't help in my attempt to get over my fear of soup. Thankfully, however, the chowder did help. Talk about delicious! I'm not a big fish fan and even I had to say, it was reeeeally good! We have enough to feed a small army so I have a feeling we'll be eating it for a while, but that's fine with me! Don't forget to look up the recipe on my Whole30 Pinterest board and try it out for yourself.
